The Must for Rust

Rust Remover FAQ's

Three-way corrosion fighter

  • removes rust & corrosion
  • etches metal for primer
  • prevents rust even in salt water immersion tests
  • simple application: spray or wipe
  • non-caustic to skin
  • needs no neutralizing

droptank before

BEFORE: This rusty steel airplane droptank was rustpitted all the way through.

We used sanders and muriatic acid (swimming pool supply) to eat away the heavy scale rapidly (smoking fumes), but I do not recommend this to anyone without a complete fresh air acid-resistant safety suit.

Sandblasting was not an option, for I wished to solder up all of the pitted areas afterwards.

Once the tank was completely clean I proceeded to solder the large areas, at night, so the torch flame would show where the holes were.

droptank after

AFTER: You can see how all of the rust-prone areas and the fluxed areas are now spotless, and not prone to rust at all.

The primer will simply go on over this, with a sealant over that. Simple fast and effective, the way good products should be.

This drop tank will be used on a restored P40, enabling it to go reasonable distances of a few hundred miles.

Fender with Rust

Sprayed on Must for Rust and let set for 20 seconds. Excess wiped up, dried, and ready for primer.

Dissolves and prevents rust in one operation! Removes brake dust from alloy wheels like no other!

This is the best rust product Kent has ever found. It's safe to use, contains no hydrochloric or muriatic acids, is non-flammable, BUT MAY BURN YOUR SKIN. Kent uses it without gloves, but you may need to wear dish scrubbing gloves, as one of our unlucky customers discovered. READ LABEL BEFORE USE. It works like magic!

"NOTHING WORKS LIKE The MUST FOR RUST!
I NEVER write to companies, but this stuff is great!
Thanks! Doesn't scuff, scratch, discolor, or anything!
I do a lot of art and use a lot of old metal. I also run in to furniture with chrome and NOTHING has ever worked like this stuff! Don't let it go away!"
